White, Madigan, Topinka Win Again
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Illinois voters returned familiar faces to key state officer positions on Tuesday.
Secretary of State Jesse White (D) and Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D) were re-elected to another four-year term.

Comptroller Judy Baar-Topinka (R) won a tight race with outgoing Lt. Gov. Shelia Simon, the daughter of the late Sen. Paul Simon.
In the race for state treasurer, Republican Tom Cross was facing Democrat Michael Frerichs. That race remained too close to call.
The winner will replace the outgoing Dan Rutherford, who ran unsuccessfully for the 2014 GOP gubernatorial nomination.
State Rep. Cross (R-Oswego) was the former Illinois House minority leader.
State Sen. Frerichs (D-Champaign) is a certified public finance officer and former Champaign County auditor.
Cross strongly supports using the office to force the state to pass a balanced budget. During the campain Frerichs said Cross voted for several unbalanced budgets.
White has been the longest-serving Secretary of State and was first elected in 1998. He says this will be his last term.
