White Castle Inducts Two Locals Into Hall Of Fame
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- White Castle is inducting two Chicago-area residents into its "Cravers Hall of Fame."
Dale Bemis from Oak Lawn and Lester Talcott from Crystal Lake are two of the 13 picked for the 2010 White Castle Cravers Hall of Fame class. More than 1,300 entires were submitted this year.

Dale Bemis was chosen for his entry, "Must Love Pickles." Bemis wrote about how he and his late father used to bond over sliders; his father always ordered extra pickles. When Dale was dating his future wife, he knew she was "the one" when she ordered her sliders with extra pickles. Bemis included in his entry a photo from his wedding reception: bride, groom and a crave case.
Lester Talcott started working at the White Castle at 104th Street and Torrence Avenue in Chicago in 1940, when he was just 16 years old. He says he applied for the job because he loved sliders so much.
Since White Castle launched the Cravers Hall of Fame in 2001, more than 6,629 people have applied and 67 have been chosen.
The 2010 Cravers Hall of Fame class will be inducted on Nov. 16 in special ceremony at the White Castle home office in Columbus, Ohio.
