Schuster: Where Was The Defense?

By David Schuster--

As I'm writing this recap of the Bulls 120-112 loss to the Knicks the Bulls plane is flying towards Boston and I'll bet you Tom Thibodeau is looking at the game tape. Hopefully no one is sitting next to him because they might get thrown out of that plane. That's how bad defensively the Bulls played on this night. They allowed NY to get open look three pointers early and often and that pretty much was the game.

The Knicks shot 67% from behind the arc (16/24) and their bench outscored their counterparts 55-37. Toney Douglas (who?) scored a career high 30 points and Danilo Gallanari had 24.

As for the Bulls, Derrick Rose had 24 points and a career high 14 assists but where was he when the game got a bit closer?  Many people were questioning Thibodeau about that after the game.

Joakim Noah had another double double with 12 points and 13 assists and Taj Gibson also had a double double but the defense (or lack there of) was the story on this night as the Bulls fell to 2-2.
