Wheaton Soldier Dies 1 Month After Being Injured In Afghanistan
WHEATON, Ill. (CBS) – A U.S. soldier from Wheaton has died from injuries he received last month in Afghanistan.
Army Spc. Samuel T. Watts, 20, died Saturday in Bethesda, Md., the Defense Department announced Monday. He had been wounded April 25 in Zharay, Afghanistan, from an improvised explosive device.
Watts was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, N.C.
