Wheaton Police On High Alert Over Car, Office Burglaries
WHEATON, Ill. (STMW) - Wheaton police are asking for the public's help after a slew of burglaries happened last week in the west suburb.
During the last week of October, 12 vehicle burglaries, four office burglaries and one residential garage burglary was reported, according to a Wheaton police release.
Eleven of the vehicles were unlocked and items including GPS devices, cell phones, computer equipment, a purse and cash were taken from the 2200 block of Albright, the 400 to 1200 blocks of Brighton Drive, the 1400 block of Dawes, the 2200 block of Embden Lane, the 1900 block of Hampton, and the 1600 block of Valley Forge during hours of darkness, the release said.
The four offices burglarized were in the 400 block of East Roosevelt Road and occurred during the early morning hours with computers and cash stolen, the release said.
The residential garage that was broken in to was in the 1400 block of Darwin Court during hours of darkness by a male suspect, although nothing was taken, the release said.
