Prosecutors: Suburban Man Head-Butted Metra Conductor, Breaking His Nose

(CBS) -- A 64-year-old Roselle man has been charged with aggravated battery for head-butting a Metra conductor in Bensenville last night.

The DuPage County State's Attorney says 64-year-old Jack Kamysz head-butted Metra conductor John Smak and broke his nose - after Smak tried to escort Kamysz to the vestibule of the train.

Right before that, Smak had asked Kamysz to pay the fare, officials say, and Kamysz had responded with a vulgarity.

Kamysz has a string of DUI arrests and convictions.

Smak, the conductor, filed suit against Metra a year ago because he says he sustained another on-the-job injury: an irate passenger allegedly hit him in the back with a bicycle in 2012.
