West Side Motorcycle Wreck Kills Man
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man riding a Suzuki motorcycle was killed early Saturday when he crashed on the West Side.
About 1 a.m. the 32-year-old man was southbound on Cicero and had just passed Le Moyne Street when he rear-ended a car traveling in front of him, according to a Grand Central District police lieutenant.
The collision sent him flying across the street where he hit a another vehicle and careened off it into a third vehicle, sending the motorcycle back into the southbound lanes, according to the lieutenant.
The victim fell off the Suzuki motorcycle, which had no passengers, and was killed, the lieutenant said.
The victim's name was not being released pending notification of family members, but he was pronounced dead at 3:16 a.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
It was not known how fast the man was traveling, or whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is looking into the wreck.
