West Side Man Sought For Hit-And-Run That Killed Girl

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police on Thursday issued an arrest warrant for a Southwest Side man wanted for a hit-and-run accident that killed a young girl last summer in the Marquette Park neighborhood.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of West 62nd Place when the girl was struck by an SUV while riding her bicycle, according to an alert from the police Major Accident Investigation Unit. The girl was thrown underneath a parked vehicle, and the driver did not stop,

Mariela Crisostomo of 3317 W. 62nd Place was pronounced dead at 4:08 a.m. on June 15 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. The medical examiner's office listed the girl's age as 8.

The vehicle was driven by Lakeith Morgan, 23, with a last known address in the 3000 block of West 64th Street, according to the alert. He is described as a black male, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds.
