West Side Man Shot While Walking With Cousin
CHICAGO (STMW) - A man was shot in the shin while with two of his cousins on the West Side early Sunday.
The incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. at 935 N. Karlov Ave., according to Harrison District police Lt. John Andrews.
The 28-year-old victim had just exited a car with one of his cousins and they were walking towards a residence when he "heard shots and felt pain,'' Andrews said.
He suffered a gunshot wound to the shin and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where he likely had been released as of late Sunday afternoon.
The victim, who lives in the 1600 block of North Mobile Avenue, told authorities he was not the intended target, according to Andrews.
No one else, including another cousin who was stayed in the car, was injured, Andrews said.
No one was in custody.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
