14-year-old in critical condition, 4 others injured after crash on Chicago's Far North Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — Five people were injured in a crash on Chicago's Far North Side overnight. 

According to Chicago police, the 25-year-old driver of a yellow sedan disregarded a traffic sign in the 6300 block of N. Albany Avenue and hit a black SUV around 12:15 a.m. The airbags on both vehicles deployed.

Four people were injured inside the black SUV, including a 14-year-old boy who was taken to St. Francis Hospital in critical condition. 

A 15-year-old girl was taken to Lurie Children's Hospital in good condition. 

The 56-year-old driver of the black SUV and a 48-year-old passenger were taken to local hospitals in good condition. 

The driver of the yellow sedan was taken to a local hospital in good condition. According to police, he will receive citations. 

Major Accident detectives are investigating the cause of the crash.
