Police warn of armed robbers targeting delivery drivers on Chicago's South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police were warning of a recent string of armed robberies targeting delivery drivers in the Englewood and West Englewood neighborhoods.

Police said in each of the robberies, a group of three men wearing black hoodies and ski masks walked up to their victims with a handgun and demanded their vehicle. In most cases, the victims were working for delivery services at the time:

  • On the 7200 block of South May Street on Dec. 23, 2024 at 6:30 p.m.
  • On the 7000 block of South Racine Avenue on Dec. 30, 2024 at 6 p.m.
  • On the 7200 block of South Lowe Avenue on Dec. 31, 2024 at 10:10 a.m.
  • On the 6900 block of South Lowe Avenue on Jan. 1, 2025 at 5:40 a.m.

Police urged people to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately.
