Wells Recalled From Iowa, To Start Vs. Reds
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Chicago Cubs have recalled pitcher Randy Wells from Triple-A Iowa to start Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Wells, 29, posted a 7-6 record in 23 starts last year, with a 4.99 ERA, after missing most of the first two months with a strained right forearm. He went 6-3 with a 4.04 ERA in 14 starts after the All-Star break.
Wells takes the roster spot of outfielder Marlon Byrd, who was traded to the Red Sox.
