Weather Service: 20 Percent Chance Of White Christmas
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Those dreaming of a white Christmas in Chicago might get a flurry -- but it won't be a winter wonderland.
The National Weather Service is predicting a "slight chance" of snow Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
The temperature is expected to be cold enough – ranging between 25 and 33 degrees – but there is only a 20 percent chance of snow, according to the weather service.
It only snows on Christmas Day in Chicago 63 percent of the time, most often trace amounts of snow less than 1/4-inch, according to the weather service. It did not snow at all Christmas Day 2011.
The snow is more likely to hit the Chicago area Wednesday, followed by clear skies the rest of the week.
