Waukegan Man Charged With Heroin Overdose Death
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (STMW) - A north suburban man was charged Friday with the heroin overdose death of a 26-year-old man Wednesday.
Lake County sheriff's deputies identified Douglas E. Moses as the source of the heroin that resulted in the death of a Wauconda man, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
Deputies arranged an undercover operation to purchase heroin from Douglas about 7 p.m. Friday in the Wauconda forest preserve, the release said.
Moses and Yvonne Pitts were taken into custody without incident at the forest preserve and the heroin was seized, the release said.
Moses, 40, of Waukegan was charged with drug-induced homicide, delivery of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, the release said.
Pitts, 36, of Waukegan was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, the release said.
Both Moses and Pitts are awaiting a bond hearing.
