Waukegan, Illinois man accused of selling drugs from auto repair shop
A business owner in Waukegan stood charged Thursday with selling drugs out of his auto repair shop.
Waukegan police said at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, their Community Crimes Division officers executed a search warrant at Victor's Auto Repair Shop, at 701 Belvidere Rd.
They believed Victor Montes De Oca Lopez, 63, was selling drugs from the business. Lopez was stopped by police while leaving home and driving on a revoked license, police said.
The search warrant turned up 31 grams of cocaine and 59 grams of cannabis, as well as a loaded revolver in another area, police said. Lopez also had $11,094 on his person, police said.
Lopez is now facing charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 500 feet of a park and a school, and weapons offenses.
Police said he was also arrested for gun and drug charges back in 2023.
