CPD Secure, Reopen Water Tower Place After Shot Fired
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police were on the scene at Water Tower Place after a gun was fired inside the shopping mall Friday night.
Police say two groups of young people got into a dispute in the mall's 7th floor hallway, and ended with an offender discharging a gun.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m., Chicago Police said the incident was clear.
No one was was reportedly stuck and no injuries have been reported, according to Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
The mall and its surrounding area have been reopened to traffic and pedestrians.
The groups involved in the shooting got away. However, Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said investigators are confident surveillance cameras in the area will help them find the gunman.
