Water Main Break Shuts Down Lincoln Avenue Near Armitage
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Traffic was disrupted early Monday when a water main broke and flooded busy Lincoln Avenue in the Lincoln Park-Old Town neighborhood.
The water main broke before dawn Monday morning, and shut down Lincoln Avenue in both directions between the junctions with Armitage Avenue and Sedgwick Street, and with Wisconsin Street and Lincoln Park West.
By 6:15 a.m., city crews had plugged the hole in the road, and traffic was running as usual, reports CBS 2's Kris Habermehl.
The cause of the water main break was not immediately learned.
