(CBS) In an NBA career full of big moments for Michael Jordan, one paved the way for so many others.
"The Shot" was a historic moment for Jordan, and it turned 25 years old today.
On May 7, 1989, Jordan drilled a buzzer-beating free-throw line jumper over Craig Ehlo to gives the sixth-seeded Bulls a 101-100 victory and 3-2 series win against the third-seeded Cavaliers in the first round of the playoffs. Chicago would go on to defeat New York in the second round before falling to Detroit in the conference finals, but Jordan's legend had been born and he would go on to cement it in the next decade.
Jordan would tell the Chicago Tribune at the time that it was the "biggest shot" of his career because "I had my credibility on the line," he said.
