Warmer day ahead with passing showers in Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — Scattered areas of rain will continue Friday evening.
Shower and storm chances will increase after midnight. Strong storms will be possible overnight, and heavy rain will also occur.
A few showers linger into early Saturday morning. Then we expect a mainly dry Saturday midday and afternoon.
A west wind will boost highs to the low 90s in many spots Saturday afternoon.
It's turning much cooler for Sunday, with highs in the low 70s. Lakeside locations will stay in the 60s, though.
First Alert: A strong wind off Lake Michigan will create dangerous swimming conditions.
Highs remain in the 70s on Monday, and then the upper 80s return on Tuesday and Wednesday. Scattered storms will be possible from Tuesday through Friday next week, which could impact July 4th plans.
TONIGHT: Showers and storms likely. Some could be heavy. Low 72.
SATURDAY: Early morning showers, then clearing. Much hotter. High 90.
SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler. High 72.
