Warm And Sunny Start To Weekend, But Storms Could Spoil Sunday
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Temperatures are getting back to what you'd expect for summer in Chicago, but this weekend could see some heavy rain at times, most likely on Sunday.
Friday's temperature at O'Hare Airport was up to 74 degrees late Friday morning, and should reach a high of about 81, which is only a few degrees shy of the normal high of 85 for this time of year.
Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high of about 83, and a 20 percent chance of storms late in the day, most likely after dark.
Sunday will be slightly warmer, but rainy, with a 70 percent chance of storms, which could bring some heavy rain.
According to the National Weather Service, one to two inches of rain is possible for virtually all of northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, with higher amounts possible in some spots.
Temperatures will get back to the low 80s to start next week, which will start with another chance of rain on Monday, but Tuesday through Thursday should be mostly dry.
