Warm And Pleasant Afternoon; Thunderstorms For Some This Evening
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The clouds earlier in the morning have given way to sunny and pleasant skies, but some areas could be seeing thunderstorms later.
CBS 2 Meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist says as of 11:20 a.m., it was 85 degrees at O'Hare International Airport, with calm skies and a wind from the west at just 8 mph. The forecast high for the day is 89 degrees as the heat builds over the afternoon.
Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected to erupt in Wisconsin, and some of them could reach as far south as the North Side of the city between 7 p.m. and midnight. Parts of Lake and McHenry counties are under a slight risk for severe weather.
Rain is not expected for the Cubs game at Wrigley Field, which starts at 7:05 p.m., but Kleist says there could be a rumble of thunder.
The overnight low is 73, followed by a high of 88 on Tuesday, 86 on Wednesday, 90 on Thursday, 85 on Friday, 87 on Saturday and 84 on Sunday.
