Want To Go If Stanley Cup Reaches Game 7? Got $300K?
CHICAGO (CBS) -- What would a ticket to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final be worth? You might need to remortgage your house if you want to get in to see the Blackhawks play the Bruins at the United Center, should the series go that far.
One person was selling four tickets at center ice for $333,333.33 apiece on StubHub on Monday – and that's not even for seats right on the glass. The next most expensive seats were certainly cheaper, but still an exorbitant $14,707 for seats on the glass.
It shouldn't be a surprise that a search for even one ticket to Game 7 through Ticketmaster comes up empty – even though that game might not even be necessary.
So, if you want a chance to get in if the series goes that far, you'll have to go to ticket brokers like StubHub or Gold Coast Tickets; but prepare to shell out a ton of money.
The cheapest ticket available on StubHub was $688 for standing room only. If you want an actual seat, you'll need at least $1,000, and that's for nosebleed seats behind the goal.
Prices at Gold Coast Tickets were not much different. The cheapest seats there were a bit pricier, starting at $1,150 for upper level seats, but their most expensive ticket was $10,000 for a spot on the glass.
The NHL Ticket Exchange had similar prices on Monday.
At least you won't have to worry about shelling out a lot of money for nothing if the Blackhawks win tonight. Ticket brokers were offering full refunds to anyone who buys tickets for Game 7 if that game is not necessary.
