Walter's Perspective: Wallet Lost, Decent Person Found
CHICAGO (CBS) -- This has been such a great day for me I have to tell you about it -- how it started out being a terrible, terrible day, then turned into a great one. I left my wallet in a taxicab last night. My driver's license, credit card, CTA card, post office box -- all of them gone, likely forever.
I was up half the night and dragged myself to work this morning thinking about how to replace all those things, when on my computer came an email: "Good morning. I believe I found your wallet in a cab, and wanted to return it. Please feel free to contact me. Have a nice day. Christine O'Connell."
Hard to beat that, especially since there is so much "me, me, me" about things. Everything, everywhere, it seems is me, me, me, me.
Christine O'Connell is "us" -- one of not-nearly-enough really decent people who care about others. Thank you, Christine. Lucky, lucky me.
