Walter's Perspective: Taking Emanuel's Side In Spat With Teachers
CHICAGO (CBS) -- It's not easy to take sides in the big battle in Chicago between Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Chicago Teachers Union regarding a longer school day, but my side is on the Rahm side.
More time in school for the children, more money for teachers, more money for supplies; Fight on, Mr. Mayor. Go ahead, get angry, explode, do a BLEEP at the union. Never mind being bleeped at by the media.
You got your job, you are where you are because you bleep. Being chief of staff at the White House you had to bleep.
Running a race for Mayor of Chicago you really had to bleep. Now to get things done, especially by the unions, you have bleep the whole bleeping day.
Your predecessor, Mayor Richard M. Daley, bleeped and his dad, Richard J. Daley, boy did he bleep. Whew!
It's the mayoral way in Chicago to bleep.
If it keeps our children in class an extra 90 minuters, I say Mr. Mayor, hey there Rahmbo, bleep your heart out.
