Walter: Rep. Weiner And His High And Mighty Colleagues

If ever there were a story in the news that won't go away, it's U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) and his Twitter.
Day after day, nonstop, the politicians are yapping about Weiner.
"Come on, Weiner!" they say. "Resign from the Congress! Make room in the news for more important things! Get ethical, Weiner, so we can stop the talk about you and get on with our work!"
But the truth is the politicians don't want to stop talking about Weiner. They're standing in line to talk about Weiner; to campaign for reelection by saying how disgusting Weiner is, and how ethical, by comparison, they are.
Weiner is weird, they say, and worse than that, he lies.
But they don't say – none of them says – anything about others in Congress who lie, and are convicted of crimes.
Seven Congressmen have been convicted in the past five years. Twenty Congressmen have been convicted in the past 20 years.
Weiner is a liar and ought to resign. Congressmen yapping at him are liars, and hypocrites, and ought to resign.
