Wal-Mart 'Market Store' Opens In Presidential Towers
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Wal-Mart is welcoming its third Chicago location, this one is in the West Loop.
Doors to the new 27,000-square-foot "neighborhood market" store in Presidential Towers, 555 W. Madison St. opened at 7:30 a.m.
The store is much smaller than the typical Wal-Mart and will sell mostly grocery items.
The retail giant opened a Wal-Mart Express in Chatham earlier this year. The original Chicago Wal-Mart, a full-sized store in the Austin neighborhood, opened in 2006.
The market store is the first downtown store for the company. Wal-Mart plans to open several more stores over the next few years across Chicago.
