Wacker Drive Headaches Returning
CHICAGO (STMW) - Work resumes Jan. 3 on the Upper and Lower Wacker Drive reconstruction. Upper Wacker Drive will be closed between Randolph and Washington, and Lower Wacker Drive will be open to local traffic only.
The work — expected to wrap up next summer — will include viaduct reconstruction and replacement of the ramp at Washington and Wacker with a landscaped median, the Chicago Department of Transportation said.
Intersections between Randolph and Washington also will be closed starting Jan. 3 as part of the three-year project to rebuild the upper and lower levels of Wacker Drive from Randolph Street to Congress Parkway.
