Volunteers Search For Dog That Escaped In Wood Dale
WOOD DALE, Ill. (CBS) -- A dozen volunteers are scouring the northwest suburbs for an elusive dog who got away from her owner.
As WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports, the dog, named Queenie, is a 7-year-old female red heeler, a type of Australian cattle dog.

Renea Burman of the PACT Humane Society in Downers Grove is heading the volunteer search. She has prepared a map with numbered stickers corresponding to places where Queenie has been seen.
Queenie got spooked and ran away from her owner, an over-the-road truck driver from Oregon, a month ago in Wood Dale. The dog was spotted Saturday in Elk Grove Village, several miles away.
"We were literally about an hour behind her," Burman said.
She has also been seen near the Georgetown Mall in Wood Dale.
Queenie was caught twice, but managed to escape both times. One of the police officers said she had "felony feet."
Volunteers, animal lovers all, are out looking.
"I would say we've got about 10 people that are extremely active; I mean every day out there looking," she said.
The effort blows away Queenie's owner 2,000 miles away.
But Burman says the effort is all well worth it.
"I guess for me it was, would I want somebody to do this for me if my dog were lost 2,000 miles away from home?" she said.
