Volunteers Clean North Avenue Beach As Sunbather Lounges
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Volunteers picked up trash at the North Avenue Beach Wednesday, to publicize "outdoor ethics" ahead of the official opening of the Chicago beaches on Friday.
As WBBM Newsradio's Steve Miller reports, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics joined local groups for the cleanup effort.

The beach attracts crowds during the summer months – particularly on weekends – and litter, crowding and dumping can result, organizers said.
As the trash pickup was going on around him, Dzevad Hadzic was lying in the sand, getting a more thorough tan than most.
"I think beaches are clean. I think it's been satisfactory," Hadzic said.
He was also getting more attention than the people picking up trash.
Hadzic, 52, wore his typical beach attire: a thong.
"Yeah, people give me a hard time and girls get drunk and get to be too obnoxious. They get too pushy. And I no like it," Hadzic said.
He says his wife isn't thrilled that he spends a day at the beach every week - getting so much sun.
"No, she cannot deal with that. She says I shouldn't be doing that. I'm too old for that," Hadzic said. "The older I am, the younger I act."
Hadzic's interview with Miller was then interrupted by two young women who wanted to pose for a photo with him.
