Vikings Hire Mike Zimmer As Head Coach
(CBS) -- The Minnesota Vikings have hired Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer as head coach, according to multiple reports.
Zimmer spent Tuesday in Minnesota interviewing for the second time and was offered the job Wednesday morning.
Zimmer, 57, is a Peoria native and spent the last six years as the Bengals' defensive coordinator. Before that, he was the Falcons' defensive coordinator in 2007 after 13 years as an assistant with the Dallas Cowboys.
