View: The Most Embarrassing Play In Bears' History?
(CBS) In perhaps the most embarrassing loss in franchise history -- a 55-14 setback to the rival Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday night -- the Bears submitted one of the single most embarrassing plays in franchise history.
As Chicago went to punt in the third quarter, Green Bay's Jarrett Boykin broke through the line and broke up the punt attempt from Pat O'Donnell with his foot. That's right -- Boykin got his foot on the ball, and O'Donnell didn't. We'd like to call it a blocked punt, but the official scorers ruled it a fumble.
Whatever. It was one of the lowest of lows for the Bears on a night full of them. It'll go on the lowlight reel this season, right alongside Lamarr Houston's celebration that resulted in a torn ACL with the Bears losing big in the fourth quarter to the Patriots.
