View: Boston Herald Expertly Trolls Those Criticizing Patriots Following Deflategate
(CBS) By now, you've probably heard that Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady has been suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season and the franchise fined $1 million and docked two draft picks following Deflategate, the so-called scandal in which New England was found to have deflated footballs below the league threshold in its AFC Championship Game win against Indianapolis.
How the NFL reached the decision to suspend Brady for four games when former Ravens running back Ray Rice only got a two-game ban after hitting his then-fiancee in an elevator, no one has figured out. What we do know is that Brady and the Patriots have entered the pantheon of all-time sports villains, as the star and the organization have drawn the ire of fans and the NFL.
Why? Well, the Patriots have certainly toed the line of the rulebook before -- and crossed it. But the Boston Herald has another theory as well and, in an epic troll job of all other NFL fans, put it on the front page of its newspaper Wednesday.
Check it out.
Considering this is a story blown out of proportion, kudos to you, Boston Herald. Kudos.
