New Videos Show Mayor Emanuel's Motorcade Run Red Lights, Go Wrong Way Down Cicero Avenue
If the purpose of a ticket is to deter a crime, it's not working. Not for Mayor Emanuel's motorcade at least, which, according to two videos, continues to ignore traffic laws.
The two videos obtained by Crime in Wrigleyville and Boystown, a blog that has been extensively covering the traffic violations of Mayor Emanuel's motorcade, don't only show the a vehicle from the motorcade running a red light, but feature it going the wrong way down Cicero Avenue.

In the first video, the SUV exits Lake Shore Drive at Belmont, blasting through the intersection just before pedestrians start walking across the street.
In the second video, the SUV was caught running another red light at Cicero and Washington. This video also features the SUV going the wrong way down Cicero Avenue to avoid traffic.
The first video happened Saturday, March 14th, the second happened a week later.
When asked about these incidents, a spokesperson from the mayor's office said all drivers are expected to follow the rules of the road, including the mayor's detail.
