Video: Kolten Wong Picked Off To End Game 4 Of World Series
(CBS) After an interference call ended Game 3 of the World Series, Game 4 ended just as bizarrely.
Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth with two out and one on, the stage was set for Cardinals slugger Carlos Beltran to potentially tie the game in front of the hometown crowd.
Rookie Kolten Wong took a lead from first base, but was picked off to end the game.
Wong took to Twitter after the game to express his disappointment in his own play.
"All i want to say is i'm sorry #CardinalNation I go out everyday playing this game as hard as I can and leaving everything on the field," he tweeted.
This marks the first time a World Series game has ever ended with a pickoff.
WIth the win, the Red Sox tied the series at 2-2.
