Video: Jose Iglesias' Bare-handed Play Against White Sox
(CBS) Jose Iglesias made the White Sox pay last night.
Iglesias, who went to the Tigers in a three-team trade that sent Jake Peavy to the Red Sox, made one spectacular play from shortstop.
In the bottom of the sixth inning with one on and one out, White Sox catcher Josh Phegley hit a broken-bat bouncer to shortstop.
A charging Iglesias dove forward, grabbed the ball with his bare hand and threw to first, while still in the air, to get the out.
Maybe that's why the Tigers wanted Iglesias so badly?
But, the White Sox ultimately won the game, 6-2, to pull within 24 games of the Tigers.
