Video: Amazingly, Pierzynski Scores From First On A Groundball To Shortstop
(WSCR) There's no denying A.J. Pierzynski is having an incredible year.
Jon Heyman of CBS Sports already said he belongs in the MVP discussion after putting up a batting average of .299 with a career-high 23 home runs and 67 RBIs through 94 games this season.
During yesterday's game, Pierzynski managed to score from first base on a routine grounder to shortstop. As the 35-year-old catcher took second base, he realized no one was covering third. After jogging to third, Pierzysnki again realized no one was covering home and took off to score.
