Vehicle Fatally Strikes Pedestrian On West Side
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 33-year-old man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.
A 2004 Chevy Impala was traveling north on Pulaski Road when a 33-year-old man ran into traffic near West Van Buren Street and was struck about 8 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said.
Alexandro Cruz, 33, of the 700 block of Lexington Street in Oak Park, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The 22-year-old male driver was cited for not having his driver's license and insurance with him at the time of the accident, Kubiak said.
