VCU Pulls Another Upset, Rolls Past Purdue
Virginia Commonwealth University isn't really playing like an 11-seed, in their three games of the tournament they've outscored their opponents by 49 points.
After pulling off their second consecutive 18-point win and upset, the Rams have found themselves in the Sweet 16.
Bradford Burgess led the way for VCU, scoring 23 points and adding 8 rebounds, but the rest of the VCU roster was just as impressive. The team shot 57% from the field and 38% from three-point range.
Purdue's JaJuan Johnson led all scorers with 25 points, but it wasn't enough as the Boilermakers fell by a score of 94-76.
Down the stretch the game was never in doubt, the Rams took a 25-24 lead with 5:54 left in the first half and didn't relinquish it for the rest of the game.
VCU will play the winner of the Notre Dame-Florida State game.
