Urlacher On Vikings' Peterson: He Does It All
(CBS) For a team that ranks 28th in the league in run defense, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is not the guy you want to face.
Peterson ranks second in the league in rushing with 498 yards through the first five games. Conversely, the Bears have given up an average of 135.6 rushing yards per game.
"He's got everything you want in a running back," Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher said. "He runs the ball hard. He knows what coverage you're in. … He's good between the tackles, he's good outside. He does it all."
To avoid falling to 2-4 on the season, the Bears will have to stop Peterson and the run game – something they've struggled with this season.
"We've been on our heels a lot this year with the way we've played," Urlacher said. "When you don't stop the run, it's tough for our coaches to call the game, because you have to play for the run. They throw on you when you're on the run defense. We just gotta figure it out. When we're in Cover-2, we need to stop the run. … Even when we're in an eight-man front we haven't stopped the run."
