Urlacher: I've Heard From Vikings, Cardinals & Cowboys
(CBS) Days after his official departure from the Bears, the team he spent his first 13 NFL seasons with, linebacker Brian Urlacher said he has options.
In the days since the Bears opted not to meet Urlacher's desired salary, the 34-year-old, eight-time Pro Bowler told The Dan Patrick Show he's heard from the Vikings, Cardinals and Cowboys.
Urlacher said he's excited about the next step in his career.
"I get a chance to look around and see what's out there, if there's anything out there at all. I don't know; maybe nobody wants me," Urlacher told The Dan Patrick Show on Friday. "Who knows? We're going to find out, I know what much."
Urlacher said now that he is officially done with the Bears, other teams could become more aggressive in their pursuit.
"The thing is, no one thought I would leave Chicago," Urlacher said. "All these teams that we've talked to, they thought, '(The Bears) aren't going to let him go. He's not leaving. Why waste our time with this?' And it's clear now that's not the case."
