Update On Carlos Silva

According to the Cubs training staff, starter Carlos Silva will undergo a cardiac catheterization on Monday morning.  The procedure is diagnostic in nature as the Cubs and their medical staff are trying to find out exactly what they're dealing with.  Silva was determined to need the procedure after being seen by the team's cardiologist and electrical physiologist at Northwestern hospital.

Should the procedure find that everything is normal, Silva would still need ten days to two weeks before he can return to pitching but the team fully expects Silva to be able to pitch this season.  If the procedure finds that additional care is needed, a cardiac ablation may be performed at a later date to help regulate Silva's heartbeat.
