University Of Chicago Student Disciplined, But Will Graduate
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A University of Chicago student who had faced the prospect of expulsion, was placed on probation for his role in a student protest, but will be allowed to graduate.
Student body president Tyler Kissinger was facing potential expulsion because in May he allowed other protesters access to administrative offices.
"Freedom of expression and dissent are fundamental values of the University of Chicago," the administration says. But "all students are expected to follow the policies set forth in the student manual."
Kissinger told CBS 2's Brad Edwards that he would do it again.
