United To Spend $500 Million To Upgrade Planes
CHICAGO (CBS) -- United Airlines passengers will notice some major changes soon, after a half-billion dollar cabin makeover is through.
As CBS 2's David Morrison reports, flying United could get a lot more comfortable after the project.
The initiative is part of the integration of United and Continental, which merged last year under the United name.

As early as next month, passengers will start to see flatbed seating in the first and business class cabins on long-haul aircraft, increased overhead bin space on some jets and even wi-fi to other planes.
Former Continental planes will get Economy Plus seating - a coach section with more legroom - and "Channel 9," which allows passengers to listen to air traffic control conversations with pilots.
A total of 138 planes will receive improvements.
