United To Fly New Boeing 787 Dreamliner From Chicago-Houston
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner airplane will soon be flying over the skies of Chicago.
United Airlines says that it will start flying the plane in early November between Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport.
The new planes, which are more fuel-efficient than existing aircraft, eventually will be shifted to international routes.
As the Chicago-based airline struggles with a series of technical glitches this year, United says in a statement that the company is pleased to give customers and employees and chance to experience this new revolutionary aircraft and enjoy its unique benefits, including the industry's largest windows that can be dimmed through special shades.
The aircraft also offers bigger overhead bins. It can transport up to 290 passengers, depending in its configuration.
