UIC Student Found Dead In Dorm Room

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A student from the University of Illinois Chicago has died, after he was found unresponsive in his dorm room on campus.
Patrick Juris of New Lenox, was found in his dorm room at 1230 S. Halsted St. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said Junis was deceased at the scene.
Police are investigating, but no further details were available.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office said an autopsy determined on Monday that Juris died of peritonitis, an infection and inflammation of the membrane lining the abdominal cavity.

Juris was a senior, majoring on sociology.
Juris had been awarded a scholarship by the Spina Bifida Association of Illinois - a scholarship granted to students with the congenital disorder.
His biography on the association's website says Juris wanted to be an occupational therapist.
He was listed as vice president of the Sociology Club at UIC and was the Community Access Consultant at the university's Disability Resource Center.
