U Of I: Assistant Law Dean Falsified Student Grades, Scores
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (CBS) -- An investigation at the University of Illinois has found that a College of Law assistant dean of admissions tampered with student data for years.
As WBBM Newsradio's David Roe reports, the investigation found dean Paul Pless responsible for inflated grades and entrance-exam scores being posted online. He had been altering student information for several years, the university says.

Pless was put on administrative leave, but then resigned.
The university says a final report found intentional inaccuracies on six of 10 years reviewed.
The falsified data was forwarded to the American Bar Association and ranking organizations, such as U.S. News & World Report.
The investigation also found the College of Law did not have controls to prevent the inaccuracies.
