(WSCR) The mother of Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough, who works as a salaried fundraiser for the University of North Carolina, was placed on administrative leave while the university reviews the legitimacy of her expensed travels.
Tami Hansbrough was hired in 2008 and earns $95,000 a year as a fundraiser for a foundation that raises money and awareness for the UNC dental school.
According to a report, the university found that Hansbrough had been taking trips with chief fundraiser Matt Kupec, who resigned Sunday night, at the university's expense.
Subsequent reports indicate the two had take trips to see Tami's other son, Ben, who played basketball at Notre Dame.
"I have been privileged to have worked with incredibly talented faculty, students, administrators and staff. I have worked with gifted Chancellors. But most of all, I have been fortunate to work with a score of passionate alumni and friends who love this University and who have paved the way through their generosity to make Carolina a true gem."
