Two Wounded, One Critically, In South Shore Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman was in critical condition following a gang-related shooting Thursday in the South Shore neighborhood that also wounded a 28-year-old man, police said.
The two were outside in the 6700 block of South Paxton Avenue at 11 p.m. when two male gunmen approached on foot and opened fire, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
A bullet struck the woman, who is 23, in the chest, critically wounding her, police said. The man was shot in the shoulder and is listed in "stable" condition. Both were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.
No one was in custody as Area Central detectives were investigating.
