Two Teens Shot By Gunmen Riding Bikes In South Shore
CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two teen boys were wounded Monday night when a pair of gunmen rode up to them on bicycles and opened fire in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
The boys -- ages 14 and 16 -- were in the 7000 block of South Clyde Avenue about 10 p.m. when the gunmen pedaled up and shot them, police said.
"Basically, they were on the sidewalk when two unknown offenders on bicycles rolled up and fired, striking both of them," said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
Police said the 14-year-old boy was taken to Comer Children's Hospital in "stable" condition with gunshot wounds to the leg and shoulder, police said.
The 16-year-old was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he is also listed in "stable" condition, police said.
No one was in custody as Area Central detectives were investigating early Tuesday.
