CHICAGO (STMW/CBS) - A man was stabbed during a fight with two suspects on a Lake View community street early Saturday.
The 24-year-old victim was walking in the 900 block of West Belmont Ave. about 3:30 am. when two male suspects approached him from behind and a fight erupted, according to police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak.
During the brawl, the suspects stabbed the man in the back and fled the scene, she said.
The man was taken in good condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to Kubiak, who said as of 9:30 a.m., no arrests have been made.
Alderman Tom Tunney of the 44th Ward issued a statement Saturday afternoon, saying the two suspects were in custody.
"Thank you to our officers for their quick and professional action. Late night patrols have been stepped up in our neighborhood and we will continue to work together to find additional resources for the Midnight to 6:00am shifts," Alderman Tunney said.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
